In December 1958, the Norwegian Prime Minister Einar Gerhardsen (with white sixpence, holding the rope) made a state visit to the INP project in India together with his wife (on a chair right to him with sunglasses).
Also, the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Halvard Lange (standing behind Gerhardsen), and his wife, Aase, participated (standing beneath, with sunglasses) were part of the delegation. They are aboard the ship named ‘Kalava’, which was a typical Norwegian fishing vessel brought from the western part of Norway. However, using this vessel in the local fisheries in Kerala failed. Therefore, the ship was converted into a research and experimental vessel.
