Bombil (Bombay duck, or lizardfish) is the major catch, a key source of income and food security for the fishers in Palghar. Dried bombil lasts throughout the year and is cooked in a variety of ways. Bombil is traditionally dried and processed by Koli women on wooden scaffolding.
